Yoosung Kim studied Industrial Design at Hongik University in Seoul. After graduating, he began his career under Yeongkyu Yoo, designer of Microsoft HoloLens and co-founder of Cloudandco. During this period, he collaborated with a wide range of global companies, including Disney, Tumi, Naver, and Dot.
He later joined the Japanese sports brand Descente, known for its minimal and high-tech approach to performance products. As a footwear designer, he developed shoes for the Swiss and British Triathlon National Teams and contributed to patented midsole technologies.
In 2020, Yoosung moved to Switzerland to pursue a Master’s degree in Product Design at ECAL, where he explored long-lasting and sustainable design through 3D knitting and 3D weaving. His graduation project, a running shoe designed for individuals with cerebral palsy, won the James Dyson Award 2022 as the Swiss Winner.
After ECAL, he worked as a Lead Innovator at Nike NXT Space Kitchen. He is currently work at Post Archive Faction (PAF), one of Korea’s rising fashion brands to build a footwear department.
